Line-up Announced for 18th Annual BBQ, Brews and Blues! The Eldorado’s Summer Kick-Off Event Set for June 21-22

RENO, Nev. (May 14, 2013) – The unofficial kick off to summer, the Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues festival is equal parts barbeque block party, micro-brew tasting event and music festival with two stages featuring non-stop rock and blues throughout the event. Blood Sweat & Tears, Greg Kihn Band and Tommy Castro and The Painkillers are set to headline the 18th annual BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival in Downtown Reno June 21 and 22.

Blood Sweat & Tears, was the first group to successfully blend rock and jazz into a genre-crossing sound and style. Four decades later, the most recent incarnation of the band has developed a contemporary voice that reaches beyond a single, nostalgic audience. They’ll play the Fourth Street stage on Saturday at 4:15 p.m.

Greg Kihn’s career stretches from the dawn of punk and indie rock to the discos of the ‘80s to the glory days of MTV. As a pioneer with the legendary Beserkley Records, he helped write the book on revolutionary west coast rock and roll. The Greg Kihn Band will close out Friday night on the Fourth Street stage with a 6:30 p.m. set.

Tommy Castro, who won the coveted 2008 and 2010 Blues Music Awards for Entertainer of the Year, is arguable one of the brightest stars on the international blues scene. A gifted guitarist and a deeply-soulful vocalist, Castro combines a rock and roll delivery with a touch of soul. They’ll rock the Third Street stage at 5 p.m. on Saturday night.

Additionally attendees can see American roots music artist, Shane Dwight; soulful South Bay guitarist and vocalist Maxx Cabello Jr.; plus festival favorites the Jason King Band, Valentine Rodeo, Carolyn Dolan & Big Red, Rick Hammond Blues Band, The Schall Adams Band and Whiskey Haulers.

There’s no better way to celebrate summer than with the 18th Annual Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival, set for Friday, June 21 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Downtown Reno will be rockin’ with live entertainment, amazing food and more than 40 microbrews from around the world.
