The Salvation Army serves the needy 365 days of the year with food, clothing, household goods, rent, utilities and more. In addition, they operate a 70-bed drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that is free of cost to participants. They serve the biggest concentration of people during the holidays where in 2016 they served more than 1,400 families with holiday food boxes and toys for more than 4,300 children. Major Charles Fowler, County Coordinator for The Salvation Army, explained that the income they receive from the Eldorado show is one of the largest single corporate donations they receive during the year. “It is a very crucial part of our fund-raising efforts,” said Fowler.
