The Eldorado’s Coffee Shop is Revamped and Renamed

Millies24 is Downtown Reno's New 24/7 Hotspot to Meet, Eat and Drink

RENO, Nev. (February 11, 2014) – After a remodel and concept change, Tivoli Gardens has re-opened as Millies24. Named after Eldorado owner and founder Don Carano's mother, Millies24 offers a down-home coffee shop menu featuring favorite family recipes.

Guests who were familiar with the menu will find that staples like the famous omelets, ham and eggs and other breakfast items are still available – and served all day. Much loved sandwiches, burgers and dinners like the Southern fried chicken and ribeye steak have also remained, but the menu now also features fresher ideas. Geno’s flatbreads, which became a hit at the Eldorado’s annual Italian Festival, are now available year-round at Millies24. Teriyaki chicken, Thai-style beef and hoisin grilled fish rice bowls are a new addition as are a slew of melts like Dario’s meatball melt and the California chicken melt with Swiss cheese, avocado, bacon and Russian dressing.

Real standouts on the menu include authentic Mexican dishes like green corn tamales, sizzling fajitas, tacos and enchiladas and the extreme pot pies, made with chicken or beef and covered with a flaky crust. The menu wasn’t the only thing that got freshened up. The restaurant itself was remodeled with a new color-scheme, new finishes and a lighter, more open layout. According to Rhonda Carano, vice president of advertising and public relations, Millie had a zest for life and took great pride in her family. The new décor was selected to reflect her spirit. Millie’s favorite colors were yellow and green and so the Millies24 interior projects a rich, earthy color palate of yellow, green and purple with metallic accents. The colors, tile, beaded board wood-work and lighting all highlights the open air feeling of the space.

The pastry case, which used to occupy the center of the restaurant, has been moved to the entrance and is now part of the Sweet Shoppe & Bakery offering a variety of foods, from fresh-roasted Eldorado coffee, made-to-order homemade cakes, delicious pies, house-made fudge and chocolate sweets, decadent sundaes and milkshakes, fresh-churned creamy gelato and candy by the pound.

The bar and cocktail program were also overhauled. Signature drinks meant to be shared like the Millie’s Mango Mai Tai are served in 51-ounce goblets with dry ice for dramatic effect. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of late night bar action, Millies 24 is always open. For more information or to make reservations visit www.eldoradoreno.com or call 775-786-5700 today.
