High Desert Racing Association’s Eldorado Fireworks 500 Event Highlights

The High Desert Racing Association’s Eldorado Fireworks 500 race, sponsored by the Eldorado Hotel Casino and Silver Legacy Resort Casino and fueled by Monster Energy, will redefine what an off-road event can be for racers and fans when it comes to the Tahoe-Reno Motorplex July 1-8. A full week of off-road racing excitement is in store for fans.

Highlights of the week include the Eldorado Fireworks 500 qualifying race at the Tahoe Reno Motorplex on July 5 starting at 12:30 p.m. The motorplex is located 16 miles east of Reno off exit 32. In addition to the qualifying race excitement, spectators can enjoy the Red Dog Saloon beer garden with Monster Energy drink specials. Additional food and drink vendors will also be on site. At 7 p.m. it’s the HDRA Racetown SUA Party at Rum Bullions inside the Silver Legacy, featuring live entertainment and Monster Energy drink specials.

On July 6 starting at noon it’s the contingency under the famous Reno arch and the All American BBQ Festival, an all-day street festival featuring great all-American barbequed food booths, more than 30 street vendors and two stages with rocking tribute bands. Over 100 Baja style race cars will be on display, there will be presentations by the Monster Energy freestyle motocross and two wheel asphalt stunt teams, autograph signing sessions and appearances by the Monster Girls.

The big race takes place on July 7 starting at 9 a.m. at the Tahoe Reno Motorplex. Fans will be treated to an incredible spectating experience on top of a long, graded level plateau, which overlooks the main pit area, the qualifying loop and a good portion of the racecourse. The layout of the course is in a cloverleaf shape – great for spectators who will see each vehicle several times on every lap. There will be 23 classes of race vehicles competing in the 500-mile off-road race on the 120-mile race course. Spectators can also enjoy the Red Dog Saloon beer garden with Monster Energy drink specials, additional food and drink vendors and presentations by the Monster Energy freestyle motocross stunt team.

The excitement concludes on July 8 with the Eldorado Fireworks 500 awards presentation at 11 a.m. on the plaza stage in downtown Reno and the All American BBQ Festival’s great food and entertainment throughout the day.
