Eldorado Coffee Company Unveils New House Blend
After a lengthy and substantive cupping and coffee tasting process with Coffee Roaster Mark Sewell and Vice President of Food and Beverage Gregg Carano, the Eldorado has unveiled the Italian Festival Blend as the resort’s new house blend coffee.
According to Sewell, the inspiration for the blend came from traditional Northern Italy espressos. "We first created it for Italian Festival last year but we fine-tuned this version of the blend over several months. It’s a traditional roast that embodies what everyone enjoys about Italian Fest."
The new blend has a bolder character and full body with chocolaty overtones and a slight fruit presence. It uses only the choicest and highest quality green Arabica coffee beans from Brazil, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Sumatra. Sewell noted that the Ethiopian beans are natural, which means the coffee fruit dries on the bean, imparting the flavors of compote fruit and dark rich chocolate, and the Sumatra is utilized to give the coffee an earthiness and nice spice quality.
Except for La Strada and Roxy, which have their own respective blends, the new Italian Festival Blend will be served in the various Eldorado restaurants, guest rooms and at the Eldorado Coffee Company located just outside Tivoli Gardens. Guests can also purchase beans from the kiosk to enjoy at home.
The Eldorado was the first hotel in the United States with its own coffee roaster and full-scale gourmet coffee program.
