Limited Release Collaboration Brew Supports the Movember Charity Event
RENO, Nev. (October 30, 2013) – The Brew Brothers brewmaster, Greg Hinge has collaborated with Justin Sibley and Tidepool Brewing Company on a special limited release that will be available during the month of November. All net proceeds from the sale of the “2013 Papa Sibs Robust Porter with Vanilla Beans” will support the Movember Charity Event, which is an annual, month-long event to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
Hinge said that customers had been requesting a porter and he usually brews a dark beer around this time of year so the timing was perfect. “We saw it as a great way to help out and get the Eldorado involved and we had worked with Justin before and he had a good recipe so all the pieces fell in place.”
Hinge describes the brew as having a roasted malt flavor that imparts a nice malty sweetness as well as some cocoa bitterness and a vanilla aroma, which comes from the two pounds of whole vanilla beans soaked in Pendleton Whisky that were used in the brewing process. They named the beer Papa Sib’s as a tribute to Sibley’s grandfather who was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The Papa Sibs Robust Porter will be available during “Movember” at The Brew Brothers as well as Craft Wine and Beer, Shenanigan’s, Foxy Olive, Jungle Vino, Café De Luxe, 775 Gastropub and Minden Meat and Deli.
“We feel this is a great way to bring the growing beer community together for a great cause,” said Sibley. “The overwhelming support that has been shown by all the participants is amazing and really has shown general camaraderie amongst these local businesses.”
In addition to the Papa Sibs Robust Porter, Hinge has a second seasonal special on tap at The Brew Brothers. The “Hopasŏn,” which Hinge describes as dry, crisp and complex with plenty of fruitiness comes in at a 56 on the International Bittering Unit (IBU) scale and has a 6.8 percent ABV.
The Brew Brothers eight permanent brews are the Big Dog Indiana Pale Ale, Carano Extra, Gold Medal Winner Redhead Amber Ale, Double Down Stout, Wild Card Wheat and Gold Dollar Pale Ale.
