Jakon Tolhurst joined the Eldorado team as the Room Chef of Roxy in January 2007. His primary responsibilities include food production, plating and menu development. Tolhurst earned his Associate degree in Culinary Arts from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco before working in several northern Nevada restaurants. Tolhurst has held several positions including Chef De Cuisine of Wild Goose Restaurant and Executive Chef of Big Water Grill in Lake Tahoe. He was also Chef De Cuisine at LuLou’s in Reno. Tolhurst has been named one of the “Best Chefs of Tahoe” (2006) and was awarded People’s Choice in the 2005 Squaw Valley Food and Wine Festival.
