There are many wonderful Lake Tahoe campgrounds and picnic areas along the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe. They range from Tahoe’s happening, crowded spots loaded with amenities, to the pristine and secluded ones, where you can actually be alone for a romantic retreat.

North Shore

Agatam Beach - SR 28, Tahoe Vista, Agatam Street, 300 foot beach & lawn area
Coon St. Picnic Area - East end of Kings Beach, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ, boat launch.

Commons Beach - Center of Tahoe City, beach with large grassy area, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ

Kaspian Recreation Area - South of Sunnyside on State Route 89, campsites across highway, rest rooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Kilner Park - State Route 89 and Ward Avenue, 300 feet of beach, tennis, volleyball, bike trails.

Kings Beach Recreation Area - Center of Kings Beach, rest rooms, playgrounds, parking fee.

Lake Forest Beach - 1 mile east of Tahoe City, rest rooms, picnic facilities, firepots/grills, playgrounds, boat launch

Meeks Bay Campground - 10 miles south of Tahoe City, white sand beach, boat launch, day use fee, rest rooms, picnic facilities.

Moondunes Beach -Tahoe Vista near Pino Grande, portable restroom available during the summer, no public parking, 600 foot swimming beach

North Tahoe Beach Center - Kings Beach, across from Safeway, volleyball court, picnic facilities.

North Tahoe Marina - Tahoe Vista on SR 28, no restrooms, boat launch

North Tahoe Regional Park - National Ave. in Tahoe Vista, picnic area, trails, softball, restrooms, picnic facilities, firepots/grills, playgrounds.

Patton Beach - SR 28 in Carnelian Bay, portable restroom available during the summer, washed carnelian stone beach

Sand Harbor - South of Incline Village on State Route 28, part of Nevada State Parks, sandy beach, boat launch, beach patrol, parking fee, rest rooms.

Secline Beach - End of Secline Street, Kings Beach, no restrooms, 300 foot beach

Sugar Pine Point Park - South of Tahoma on State Route 89, parking fee, pier, rest rooms, picnic facilities, BBQ, Erhman Mansion.

Tahoe City Commons Beach - Center of Tahoe City, playground

Tahoe State Recreation Area - Next to Lighthouse Center in Tahoe City, campground, beach open dawn to dusk.

Truckee Regional Park - Highway 267 in Truckee, par course, baseball, tennis, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

West End Beach - Donner Lake, fees required, volleyball, concessions, tennis, restrooms, picnics.

William B. Layton Memorial Park - Tahoe City, rocky shore, grass, Gatekeepers Museum

South Shore

Baldwin Beach - SR 89, 4 miles south of the "Y" in South Lake Tahoe

Camp Richardson Beach -SR 89, 2.5 miles north of the "Y" in South Lake Tahoe, playground, boat rentals

Connolly Beach - U.S. HWY 50 at Timber Cove Lodge, no fire pits, boat launch nearby

El Dorado - Between Rufus Allen and Lakeview in South Lake Tahoe, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Emerald Bay Beach - Emerald Bayno, fire pits, boat dock, hiking trails, Eagle Falls, Vikingsholm Castle

Fallen Leaf Lake - Fallen Leaf Road off State Route 89, boat launch, Fallen Leaf Lake Lodge, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Kiva - 2.5 miles north of the “Y”, dogs on leash OK, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Nevada Beach - Elk Point Road near Round Hill off U.S. Highway 50, boat-in at south end, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Pope Beach - 2 miles north of the “Y”, parking fee, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Regan Beach - Lakeview and Sacramento in South Lake Tahoe, no dogs, fire or alcohol allowed, food concession, restrooms, picnic facilities, playgrounds.

Spooner Lake - U.S. Highway 50 and State Route 28, Nevada State Parks, hiking trails, lake, restrooms, picnic facilities, BBQ.

Zephyr Cove - at Zephyr Cove, rentals, cruises, food, rest rooms, BBQ, parking fee.
