Lake Tahoe has a multitude of scenic spots and amazing Lake Tahoe beaches where
you can enjoy a alpine picnic and barbecue, wander along the shoreline, wade in
the cool water, or simply bask in the sunshine and get a great Lake Tahoe tan! There
are more than thirty beautiful beaches surrounding Lake Tahoe. The water is fresh,
cool, crystal clear, and varies from azure blue to emerald green.

North Shore Beaches
Incline Village
Ski Beach - Private beach for Incline residents, temporary renters
or homeowner's association. Boat ramp, barbecue areas, kids climbing structures,
slides, swings and volleyball courts.
Burnt Cedar Beach - Private beach for Incline residents, temporary
renters or homeowner's association. Swimming pool, kiddie’s pool, barbecue
and lawn areas, kids climbing structures, slides and swings.

Boat, jet ski and other rentals are accessible from Ski Beach and the Hyatt's Beach.

Crystal Bay
Speedboat Beach - At the bottom of Speedboat Ave., off of Hwy 28 just past the Cal-Neva
on the California side. Small sandy beach, very limited parking.
Kings Beach
Kings Beach State Beach and Pier - On Hwy 28 in Kings Beach. A
large, free sand beach with paid state parking ($5). Boat, jet ski and other rentals
are available. Barbecue areas, kid's park, and public restrooms.
Secline Beach - At the end of Secline St. in Kings Beach, just
south of the junction of Hwy 267. Very limited parking, undeveloped rocky beach
with access to lawn areas, picnic tables and fire-pits.
North Tahoe Beach Center - Directly across from Safeway in Kings
Beach. Some parking, grassy areas, volleyball court, picnic tables
Tahoe Vista
Agatam Beach - Hwy. 28 at Agatam Rd., in Tahoe Vista. Picnic tables
and fire-pits, very limited parking.
Moon Dune Beach - Across from the Rustic Cottages Motel. Small
sandy beach with picnic tables and fire-pits. Roadside parking.
Carnelian Bay
Patton Beach - Small stony beach adjacent to Sierra Boat Co. Marina
and the Kayak Cafe in Carnelian Bay. Limited parking, picnic tables.
Carnelian Bay Beach - Between Garwood’s and Sierra Boat Co.
Dogs legal. Restrooms, benches and footpaths. Mostly rocky beach, picnic tables
available.
Tahoe City
Skylandia Beach - Off of Lake Forest Rd. 1/2 mile east of Tahoe
City with picnic tables and fire pits. Stony beach.
Lake Forest Beach - At the foot of Bristlecone off Lake Forest
Rd. 1.5 mi. east of Tahoe City with picnic tables and fire pits.
Tahoe State Recreation Area - Hwy. 28 on the eastern edge of Tahoe
City, adjacent to the Boatworks Mall, $5 to park.
Commons Beach - In the middle of Tahoe City, a large beach with
a grassy area, kids swings, and a small parking area.
William Kent Beach - On Hwy. 89, 2.5 miles south of Tahoe City.
Camping, picnic tables and fire pits, small sandy beach.
Chambers Beach - One mile south of Homewood on Hwy. 89. It is perfect
for sunbathers, swimming, and picnicking. Access is limited to foot or bicycle traffic
only, no public parking is available.
East Shore Beaches
Parking is available in some lots, and in some roadside spots, along Hwy 28 between
Hwy 50 and Sand Harbor. Once parked, there are steep, sandy hikes to mostly-boulder
beaches. Generally, there are no facilities, so bring trash bags to haul out what
you haul in. Do not park where no parking signs exist - you will be towed immediately.
Sand Harbor - (Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park) Nevada Division of
State Parks. Picnic facilities, restrooms, a huge sand beach and boulders for climbing.
Parking $6 per car, boat launching (at a separate entrance) is also $6, and anchoring
in the harbor is $6. Annual day use/boating permits are available, $75.

West Coast Beaches
Kaspian Recreation Area - South of Sunnyside on State Route 89.
Campsites across highway, picnic facilities, BBQ, rest rooms.
William Kent Campground - Near Sunnyside on State Route 89. Rocky beach with room
for sunbathing, picnic, rest rooms.
Sugar Pine Point State Park - 1 mile south of Tahoma on Hwy. 89.
More lake-edge than beach. Nature trails, pier, rest rooms, picnic facilities, historic
Ehrman Mansion. Parking fee.

Meeks Bay - On Hwy. 89, 10 miles south of Tahoe City, adjacent
to Meeks Bay Campground. White sand beach, boat launch, day use fee, picnic facilities,
and rest rooms.
D.L. Bliss State Park - On Hwy. 89 between Meeks Bay and Emerald
Bay, large camping area, reservations a must, beach, picnic tables, fire pits. Day-use
parking fee, beach fee, and other use fees. Phone: (800) 444-7275.
Emerald Bay Beach - Limited parking, accessible only by one-mile,
steep, sandy hike from parking lot on Hwy. 89 or by trail from Bliss Park, about
4 miles. Picnic tables, historic Vikingsholm Castle, views of the only island in
Lake Tahoe.
South Shore Beaches
Baldwin Beach - Four miles north of the intersection of U.S. Highway
50 on State Route 89. Picnic facilities, BBQ, Rest rooms, parking fee.
El Dorado Beach I - Between Rufus Allen Blvd. and Lakeview Avenue
in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. picnic facilities, BBQ, Rest rooms, boat launch.
El Dorado Beach - Base of Emerald Bay with a one-mile hike down.
Vikingsholm Castle historical home, scenic, rest rooms, picnic facilities.
Fallen Leaf Lake - Fallen Leaf Road off State Route 89. Boat launch,
Fallen Leaf Lodge, picnic facilities, BBQ, Rest rooms.
Kiva Beach - 2.5 miles north of the intersection of Highway 50
on Highway 89. Picnic facilities, BBQ, Rest Rooms,.
Nevada Beach - Elk Point Road near Round Hill, off Highway 50.
Boat-in at south end, picnic facilities, BBQ, Rest rooms.
Pope Beach - 2 miles north of the intersection with Highway 50
on Highway 89. Parking fee, picnic facilities and BBQ, rest rooms.
Regan Beach - Lakeview Avenue and Sacramento Avenue in South Lake
Tahoe. No dogs, fire or alcohol allowed, food concession, picnic facilities, playgrounds,
and rest rooms.
Spooner Lake - Highway 50 and Highway 28, Nevada State Parks, hiking
trails, lake, picnic facilities, BBQ, rest rooms.
Timber Cove - Highway 50 behind Timber Cove Lodge. Nearby marina,
picnic facilities, rest rooms.
Zephyr Cove Beach - Highway 50 at Zephyr Cove. Rentals, cruises
on M.S. Dixie II, food, BBQ, parking fee, rest rooms.
