Craps
Craps is a fast action dice game that is often the source of bursts of cheers throughout
the casino. The game is played on a large table that offers a variety of bets. Refer
to the diagram of the craps table for placement of bets. Craps is an exciting game
because it is not unusual to see a player walk away from a table with literally
thousands of dollars in winnings!
There are a variety of bets to be made in Craps and each one hinges on the roll
of the dice. But you don't have to roll the dice to win at this game. The dice are
passed around the table and you may continue to bet while other players roll the
dice.
Gaming Guidelines for Craps
1. Field
The Field is a one-roll proposition and you can bet on any roll. If 2,3,4,9,10,11,
or 12 comes up, you win. All numbers pay even money except 2, which pays double,
and 12 which pays triple.
2. Any Craps
This is a one-roll proposition and you can bet on any roll. If 2, 3, or 12 are rolled,
you win 7 times your bet.
3. Bet the Horn
When you bet these four numbers, 2, 3, 11 and 12, and they come up, you win. This
is a one-roll proposition that pays high odds and can be bet at any time during
the game.
4. Any 7
This is a one-roll proposition, and you can bet on any roll. If a 7 is rolled, you
win 4 times your bet.
5. Any 11
This is a one-roll proposition and you can bet on any roll. If 11 is rolled, you
win 15 times your bet.
6. Pass Line
You win on 7 or 11 and lose on 2, 3, or 12 on the first roll. If any other number
comes up on the first roll, it is your "point." If you roll your point again before
7 is rolled, you win even money. If 7 comes up (after the first roll) before your
"point" is made, you lose. Place these bets in the area marked "Pass Line" on the
layout.
7. Don't Pass Line
This is the reverse of betting the "Pass Line" losing on the 7 and 11 and winning
on 3 and 12. If a 2 is rolled, it's a "standoff" and nobody wins. If a 4, 5, 6,
9, or 10 comes up, your bet is placed behind that number and you are betting that
a 7 will be rolled before your number is rolled. The bet is for even money.
8. Come
Bets on Come can be made after a point is established. It is the same as betting
on the Pass Line. This bet pays even money.
9. Don't Come
Bets on Don't Come are the reverse of Come bets. The winning numbers are 3 and
12 and you break even or "stand off" if a 2 is rolled. You can make a Don't Come
bet on any roll of the dice. If 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 come s up, your bet is placed
behind that number and you're now betting that 7 will be rolled before your number.
You are paid even money.
