Love is in the Air and the Cuisine this Valentine’s Day

Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus showcase what’s amore through special menus available on Feb. 14
Reno, Nev. (Feb. 2, 2018) – Guests at the Eldorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus Reno will find culinary passion on the menus at Roxy, La Strada, Sterling’s, Café Central, Pearl Oyster Bar and Grill and El Jefe’s Cantina this Valentine’s Day.
At the Eldorado’s award-winning bistro, Roxy, guests can indulge in a three-course dinner that begins with smoked scallops over fennel, arugula, blood orange segments and tomato water foam. The entrée is a choice of Fillet of Dover Sole “Amandine” with chickpea puree and green beans or Beef Tenderloin “Oscar” with king crab leg, asparagus, béarnaise and potato puffs. For dessert, a decadent duet of strawberry semifreddo with vanilla bean génoise and strawberry marmalade and baked chocolate mousse with raspberry and orange citrus syrup. This exquisite meal is available for $55 per person.
The sixteen-time Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner, Sterling’s Seafood Steakhouse, will prepare a five-course meal for $72 per person that begins with an Fanny Bay oyster amuse with a tomato canoe, sofrito aioli and micro greens followed by a fresh vegetable ravioli with basil, shaved reggiano parmesan and champagne cream. Then, a choice of hearts of romaine Caesar with parmesan chips and fresh baked croutons or saffron mussel bisque with freshly baked fleuron and chive. For the entrée, beef tenderloin pinwheel and Maine lobster with root vegetable, spinach, chateau potatoes and cabernet thyme syrup followed by a milk chocolate marquise avec Cointreau with orange and melon caviars and vanilla scented double cream for dessert.
La Strada inside the Eldorado will serve a special San Valentino dinner crafted by the restaurant’s Chef Massimo Riggio, for $50 per person. The four-course meal includes an antipasto of polenta cake with fontina valdostana, braised snails and black truffle followed by a primi piatti (first course) that entails both artichoke risotto with scamorza cheese and duck a l’orange tortelli with cream of sunchoke. For secondi piatti (second course), both a potato crusted orange roughy with smoked sweet paprika BBQ sauce and roasted veal prime rib with mushroom ragout, toasted corn nuts and potato puree will be served. Dolce (dessert) is a chocolate tart with caramelized pistachio praline and raspberry cremeux.
For a more relaxed, casual meal, lovers can also enjoy special menus at Café Central or Pearl Oyster Bar and Grill. At Café Central, a three course meal will begin with a choice of a baby salad mix with strawberries, orange segments, feta cheese, croutons and raspberry vinaigrette or tomato basil bisque followed by a filet mignon and shrimp scampi served with béarnaise sauce, roasted shallot whipped potatoes and seasonal vegetables. For dessert, white chocolate passion fruit snowball with hearts on fire ice cream. This complete meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $29 per person. Pearl’s menu also includes a choice of baby salad mix or tomato basil bisque, followed by a crab crusted salmon with sweet basil risotto, baby carrots, asparagus and roasted red pepper coulis with a white chocolate passion fruit snowball for dessert. This meal will be available for $26 per person.
Spice up Valentine’s Day with an en fuego three course meal from El Jefe’s Cantina for $28 per person which includes a traditional tortilla soup with Oaxaca cheese, avocado and sour cream, rancheros steak and shrimp scampi served with Mexican rice and refried beans and a chocolate flan cake with flan de leche and caramel sauce.
